PLAGIARISM

What is plagiarism ?

In a simple words, plagiarism is the act of stealing or taking person’s work for their own
benefits. For example, they use the sentences from papers or website and make it as their own work. From my last ELC550 class which is English For Writing, I have just realise that there are many types of plagiarism which is I did not aware before. The types of plagiarism are :

1.      Collusion
2.      Copying
3.      Paraphrase
4.      Buying paper
5.      Recycling own word
6.      Fabrication and Doctrines
7.      Translation

Plagiarism has many effects for the students who does it and to the education system. As a students, I always needs to aware that there will be big consequence of doing plagiarism. One will be suspended and expelled from their college/university. As the effect, it will destroyed one reputation and their future as it will be hard for them to get a respectable job. Plagiarism also avoid the students using their creativity and critical thinking  as they take an easy way by copying their friends work or find it on a website without having any citation. Their honesty will be questioned. Their chances to develop some skills also will lose as they did not make an effort for their own work. By doing plagiarism one will be hurt a lot.

Remember that there is no elevator to    success. You have to take the stairs…
